Good day everyone. Some types of firearms are extremely popular among shooter developers: AK, M16, Desert Eagle, M1911, MP5, SVD, RPG-7, and so on. But today I want to talk about a pistol that started appearing in games quite recently. This is a Czech pistol CZ 75.
In 1976, the CZ 75 was born in the Czech town of Uhersky Brod. It was developed by brothers Josef and Frantis Koutzky in 1975. Initially, the model was created to export and replace “heavy” police pistols, such as the Hi-Power. In 1976, the “Czech” was demonstrated to the general public at an exhibition in Madrid and immediately received many positive reviews. The production was carried out by the company Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod. Currently, the CZ 75 is available in several modifications – chambered for the standard 9mm Parabellum cartridge, the Israeli 9×21 IMI, as well as a large-caliber .40S&W – used in the police and armies of many countries around the world.
Gaming incarnations of the CZ 75
Call of Duty Black Ops
Call of Duty Black Ops gave the opportunity to hold, albeit in gaming hands, many different guns that are not very often featured in shooters: ASP 9, PM, Cypress, PM-63, MPL, Specter M4, Enfield XL64, KS-23, PSG-1 and so on… But among them, the CZ 75, perhaps, became the loudest debut in the gaming industry.
Accurate, convenient, available in a variety of missions, and also has an option for automatic shooting mode. The standard version, judging by the magazine capacity, uses a .40 caliber, while the akimbo with automatic mode uses 9×19, although its magazine should have 16 rounds, not 20.
The game itself is replete with anachronisms. In the 60s, the CZ 75 could not have been present in Vietnam and used by Soviet troops. And I won’t comment at all on the presence of the CZ 75 Auto, which was released only in 1992. To better match the real story, the “Czech” could be replaced with a Browning Hi-Power model with an enlarged magazine, and the automatic version could be replaced with a pre-existing APS.
It is worth noting that the engraving on the pistol is incorrect: Treyarch wrote CN instead of CZ. However, gameplay-wise the CZ 75 was the better pistol in Call of Duty Black Ops.
Battlefield 4/Hardline
On the “Battlefield”, a https://lunacasino.org/mobile-app/ powerful Czech barrel first appeared in the fourth numbered part. And immediately received the status of a unique pistol. Why? CZ 75 has several advantages over its peers. Firstly, in terms of damage it is between the standard 9mm P226 and the large-caliber Compact 45, since the game uses the CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW model for the caliber .40S&W. Secondly, the rate of fire is 360 rpm. This is more than the M1911, although less than the P226. The third advantage is a 12-round magazine. All this makes the CZ 75 an unusual “all-weather” pistol that can easily compete with all other models in Battlefield 4.
What can we say about the Hardline version?? In it, the CZ 75 became a good choice for the “Operator” class. The game uses a version for the caliber .40S&W, and the “Czech” differs, for example, from the Beretta 92FS and P226 in minimal damage and a large magazine (which is incorrect, since the forty-caliber version uses a 12-round magazine).
We can say that in the Battlefield series the CZ 75 is a very unusual and good pistol. Its implementation did not let us down, which makes the model useful despite changing battle conditions.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
This barrel appeared in CS:GO after the February 2014 update. It can be obtained by replacing TEC-9 in the settings for terrorists or Five-seveN for counter-terrorists. And as for me, this is a very controversial pistol. The main disadvantage is the meager ammunition: 12 rounds in the pistol and the same amount with you. This is catastrophically low. What’s also depressing is that the pistol has a huge spread when firing automatically. One of the advantages should be the rate of fire, but alas, it only spoils everything: all the ammunition is spat out almost instantly. And the reload time of the CZ 75 is by no means fast.
The only advantages I can name are damage, low cost, high damage with penetration. And so, this is a complete disappointment for all CS connoisseurs. Why is this barrel needed if there is a reliable and proven Deagle?
Wanted: Weapons of Fate
In the movie-licensed game we see a lot of pistols: Glock, Beretta… and among them there are two versions of a Czech-made pistol. We find the automatic version by going into the crypt of our father and pulling them out of the mummified body. These barrels have good accuracy and damage, but the ammunition is consumed very quickly. In addition, they have a built-in silencer, which allows you to shoot almost silently.
The second pistol is the CZ 85, which was used by the protagonist’s father. Judging by the number of rounds, he used the .40 caliber version. There is a funny blooper with them: in the videos, Cross uses a Beretta 92, and not the specified pistol.
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned
CZ 75B in automatic version visited one of the DLCs for Grand Theft Auto IV and it is called Automatic 9mm. Externally, it bears little resemblance to the CZ 75B due to the wooden inserts, “RM 750” engravings on the sides and the absence of the characteristic clip handle on the front.
The first time you can get a “Czech” in the mission “Bad Cop Drop”, where you need to lure corrupt cops into an ambush, and then get away from the chase and reset the “wanted stars”.
In the game itself, the pistol is implemented very well: high damage, capacious magazine, fast reload, price of $500, but the accuracy is a little let down. If you do not take this minus into account, then the debut of the CZ 75 in GTA can be considered successful. In addition, this is one of two automatic pistols in the entire series.
Other games
Three variations of the CZ 75 for 9×19 caliber were added as DLC to ArmA 2. These are CZ 75 D COMPACT, CZ 75 P-07 DUTY, CZ 75 SP-01 PHANTOM.
In the casual shooter Call of Juarez: The Cartel you can find CZ 75. Only its name is incorrect: C 75 and is no different from all the pistols that are presented in the game.
In many f2p shooters, such as Warface, A.V.A, Survarium… you can find this Czech pistol, but for the most part it does not stand out from the general mass of barrels and has incorrect characteristics (enlarged magazine, incorrect caliber, lack of a characteristic part of the weapon. ).
